Adobe SheCodes is an initiative by Adobe to provide Internship and Full-Time Roles to women in technology in order to promote diversity and empower women to take up an active role in technological careers.

The first online assessment round consisted of 3 sections:

Cognitive Assessment
(20 questions- 20 minutes): It had 2 sections.
  • English: (10 questions), which is composed of comprehension-based and basic grammar questions,
  • Numerical Ability: (10 questions), which are composed of questions on geometry, trigonometry, quadratic equations, probability, statistics, etc.

Technical Assessment (20 questions-20 minutes): It consisted of MCQs on Data Structures & Algorithms, DBMS, OOPs, OS, and Computer Networks.

Coding Assessment (2 questions- 30 minutes): The 2 questions were of easy difficulty level which required only the basic knowledge of any programming language.

The second online assessment round consisted of 4 sections:

Cognitive Assessment
(20 questions- 20 minutes): It had 2 sections.
  • English: (10 questions), which is composed of comprehension-based and basic grammar questions,
  • Numerical Ability: (10 questions), which are composed of questions on geometry, trigonometry, quadratic equations, probability, statistics, etc.

Technical Assessment (20 questions-20 minutes): It consisted of MCQs on Data Structures & Algorithms, DBMS, OOPs, OS, and Computer Networks.

Coding Assessment (2 questions- 60 minutes):
The 2 questions were of medium to hard difficulty level which required the basic knowledge of any programming language along with the implementation of DSA.

Gamified Assessment (3 tasks- 23 minutes): This section is composed of mind game-based questions that had to be done according to the given instructions.

Interview Experience:

Post-10-15days, I finally got the mail of selection with 1 other girl from my college. 20 days later or so I received a mail that the interview was scheduled after two days.

On the Interview Day:

Platform: Microsoft Teams
Duration: 1 hour

The interviewer started with “Tell me about yourself”.

I began by introducing myself and was then asked a few questions about the basics of C++ as that was my preferred language of use. I was asked several theoretical and implementation-based questions starting from the data structure and simultaneously had an open discussion about the core concepts of C++ including concepts of OOPS concepts such as Abstraction, Inheritance, pointers, etc.

Then he moved on to the coding question. He shared a google document link that contained a coding question of medium difficulty level and I was asked for the approach for solving the coding question. I wrote the code and explained my approach, to the question asked. I was asked follow-up questions about Time and Space Complexity and further started optimizing my solution.

The interviewer was quite impressed by my preparation. He ended the interview on a good note after forwarding the feedback to HR.

Tips for Interview Preparation:

  • Practice solving medium and hard-level questions from websites like GFG and Leetcode and make it a habit to code on paper as well as you might not be provided with an IDE, hence you should be able to dry run your code.
  • Do not mention anything in your resume that you're not confident of.

Tips for Interview:

  • Talk as you code as the interviewer is more interested in how you approach a problem and how you think when an unfamiliar question is given to you, rather than the final mugged-up solution.
  • Do not jump on the solution straight-away, instead understand the problem given, discuss corner test cases and base conditions with your interviewer and once you are absolutely sure that you've understood the question, only then proceed with the solution.
  • Explain your approach and rationale of choosing the particular Data Structure. Do make a note of analysing the Time and Space Complexity. Once you are done with your solution, try to think of some tweaks that would optimise your solution more.
  • Dry run the code while discussing with the interviewer and fix any bugs as you go along.
  • Do not spend too much time on problem-solving otherwise you're left with no time to code it out.
In the end just believe in yourself, don't get flustered or panic during the interview rather think calmly and start "thinking out loud".

Be patient and trust the process!✨
